COVID-19 RESPONSE

Magnolia Church CORONOAVIRUS (COVID-19) Update

We are excited to announce that we will begin in-person services, soon! Beginning Sunday, May 31st, we will begin meeting together as a church again. Service will begin at 10 AM, and the doors will be opened at 9:45 AM.

Due to the recommendations of both the State of Texas and the Centers For Disease Control (CDC), we made some changes to how we will conduct in-person services during our reopening process. As a church we want to put the health and safety of you at the forefront of all we do. Please continue reading to see the protocols we have put in place as we begin our Phase One opening process.

  • We will set up the Family Life Center to accommodate as many people as possible.

Seating will be set up while keeping social distancing practices in mind. Our ushers will escort you to your seat to ensure proper spacing of you and your family. Because of spacing and our upcoming remodel of the sanctuary from the TPC Plant explosion, we will be holding services in the Family Life Center located on Texas Avenue temporarily.

  • We will be conducting main service and Youth Services only.

There will be NO kids ministry, nursery, childcare, Wednesday night activities, or Sunday School at this time. Our Warrior Student Ministry will begin meeting Wednesday evening, June 3rd at 7 pm. Kids will remain in the main service with the adult. However, we will set up a "cool down" room for those parents whose children may become disruptive during the service, and nursery will be available for children ages three (3) and under.

  • Wearing a mask is optional.
  • Common gathering spaces of the building will be closed.

This means we will ask people not to loiter in the entryway, restrooms, and we will not be serving coffee or donuts at this time.

  • Water fountains will be covered and taped off.
If you choose to bring your own drink, please make sure to take it with you when you leave. Any cups or bottles left behind - reusable or not - will be thrown away.
  • Restrooms will be sterilized prior to the start of service, after service begins, and again after all people have left the building.
  • Before and after every service, the sanctuary and all high touch surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be set up throughout the building. We will encourage their frequent use.
  • We will not distribute any bulletins or printed materials.

Offering envelopes will be available and already placed on chairs. Extras that are not used or taken will be removed and destroyed after each service. Sermon notes will be made available through the "Live" feature on the YouVersion Bible app.

  • We will encourage people to continue to give online.

For those who would rather give in service, there will be offering boxes placed in the back of the sanctuary where you can drop your offering off. We will not pass offering buckets or bags for the foreseeable future.

  • Communion will not be handed out in a tray.

When we have communion, we will use pre-packaged communion elements and they will be handed to you as you come in to the service. After communion, we will allow for our ushers to walk around and gather up the used elements in a waste basket.

  • End of service dismissal.

During Phase One, we will dismiss our service row by row. This will help to ensure a safe and organized exit, allowing space for social distancing practices.

We recognize that many of these may feel like "overkill," but please understand we are working out of an overabundance of caution because we love you and care about you. We also understand that many may not feel safe in attending service. We want to encourage you to stay home and continue to watch via our online streaming platform through Facebook. We will also continue to upload each weeks service right here on our website. All the links are contained in the short blurb right under this paragraph. Thank you in advance for your understanding, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

Your Pastor,

Rob Montgomery
